OUR PLATFORM

We establish the foundation of the Constitution Party of Ohio on the principles outlined in The Declaration of Independence and The Constitution of the United States, as intended by the Founding Fathers. These documents represent the cornerstone of our Liberty and serve as the highest law of the land.

Issue 1: Why Ohio Should VOTE NO

By now most Ohio voters have heard about Issue 1 on November 7th ballot, colloquially referred to as the "Abortion Amendment." This was purposely done to detract from the true substance of the formally named "Reproductive Rights Amendment."  What this new amendment will actually do is take away any rights an unborn child has, allows any method of abortion to be used (including Dismemberment abortions), and allows a single doctor to determine if a fetus is viable at any point in the pregnancy. According to the Ohio Attorney General's legal analysis, this amendment will invalidate multiple Ohio laws in place

This amendment is NOT a restoration of Roe v. Wade; it is better described as the deregulation of abortion. There will be no legislation that can passed which will protect any of the long recognized interests in fetal life or in medical ethics with the use of language such as "individuals" and "directly or indirectly burden" being used. This allows private doctors and hospitals to decide when and how to perform abortions and the ability to experiment on the fetuses afterward. This allows doctors and hospitals to perform abortions on children without informing parents. This allows doctors to perform dismemberment abortions and partial-birth feticide.

The Reproductive Rights Amendment is not a promise of woman's rights; it is a green light for doctors, hospitals and researchers to do as they please with a fetus. It allows pharmaceutical companies to produce any "birth control" methods without government oversight. Rather than helping and protecting women, it turns abortion into a for-profit business. It is up to voters to send this proposal back to the legislators and to tell them to do better, be moral and to stop the attempt at lining their pockets off the carcasses of aborted babies.

This is why Ohio should vote "No" on Issue 1 November 7th.
